Process to select  the  students for Fellowship, Award and/or Scholarship.

Objective :

Siddh Foundation(SF) is committed to provide required support to students to pursue the Higher Education and Research opportunities available. In this direction, SF may institute and continue different Fellowship programs, Awards and/or Scholarships collectively called Championship. This document defines the procedure to select the deserving students from those who apply for the respective championship.

Scope:

This process shall be applicable to all the championships instituted and continued by SF from time to time.

Limitations:

The charter of each championship can explicitly exclude certain steps of the procedure defined hereby.

Process :

1.       The applicant shall apply to SF in an approved format for being considered for the championship. (This shall include the paper on Problem statement or Research area in case of an application for research fellowship)

2.       The selection process for the championships has been classified into three stages.

3.       First stage, SF shall conduct an aptitude test for all the applicants. An aptitude test conducted by an associate organization shall be acceptable.

4.       The shortlisted applicants shall be called for the Second stage.

5.       The second stage has been further classified into three parts.

6.       Part 1. – It includes  a sentence framing exercise. 50 simple words word be shown to the applicants one after another  with 15 -20 Seconds to frame sentences. Max time allowed would be 15-20 minutes.

7.       Part 2 – It includes a story writing exercise. A vague picture will be shown to the applicants for approximately 2 minutes. The applicants will be given 15-20 mins to write a story.

8.       Part 3 – It includes an interview by  a  panel  having one or more interviewers. Maximum time allowed for this exercise shall not exceed one hour.

9.       Each part shall be evaluated separately and separate scores needs to be arrive at.

10.   In case of a Panel having more than one interviewers in part 3. An average of all the interviewer’s score shall be the final score for this part.

11.   An overall score for Stage 2 shall be arrived at using weighted average.

12.   The Panel of interviewers may decide to interview the applicant again, in cases, where they are not completely convinced of the rejection of the applicant.

13.   A final merit list is prepared by the Panel.

14.   The Third stage  is applicable to research fellowships only, the shortlisted applicants from the merit list from the Second stage shall be called for subject matter discussion with a panel of subject matter experts. The panel may consist of One or more subject matter experts.

15.   The Panel shall pass its opinion on the Problem statement or Research area and various other relevant criteria

16.   A final merit list shall be prepared

The championship shall be awarded to the Top applicants. The number of championship awardees shall depend on the availability of funds. Thus, the management’s decision shall be final
